SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Certified Emission Reduction volume size change

In view of changing trading patterns in the European carbon market, Platts proposes to amend its specifications for the trading volume for United Nations Certified Emission Reductions used in its daily price assessments for the CER forward market.

In light of a decline in liquidity in CER markets, and to harmonize the assessment methodology with that for EU Allowance price assessments, Platts proposes to change the trade size range for CERs to 10,000 mt to 100,000 mt in its price assessments, from the previous range of 25,000 mt to 100,000 mt, effective March 9.

Platts invites comments on the proposed changes by February 6. Please provide a clear indication if comments are intended for publication by Platts for public viewing.

Platts will consider all comments received and will make these comments available on request. Please send any questions or feedback to frank.watson@platts.com, with a copy to pricegroup@platts.com.
