Platts increases the frequency of Ammonia Energy Substitution Indices

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has increased the frequency of its Ammonia Energy Substitution Indices (AESI) assessments, effective Jan. 22, 2024.

Platts has increased the frequency of Northwest Europe and Japan AESI calculated assessments from weekly to daily in response to increasing interest in ammonia as a fuel from a number of sectors, including power generation.

The assessments (AESIA00 and AESIB00) currently only appear on Tuesdays in the AESI Update PDF. The Tuesday instance of the price will continue to appear in the same report.

From Jan. 22, 2024, the assessments will also be published over Monday-Friday on Platts Connect, and in the Platts PricePoint Database. From Jan. 29, 2024, they will also appear in the Platts Fertecon Daily PDF.
