Platts proposes shortening bidweek to three trading days from five

Due to historically illiquid trading levels during the fourth and fifth trading days of bidweek, S&P Global Platts proposes to shorten bidweek from five trading days to three trading days for both the preliminary and final Platts and ICE monthly indices beginning June 2021 bidweek, which commences trading on May 24.

The proposed final trading day of bidweek will mirror the expiration of the NYMEX natural gas futures contract on the third to last business day of the month, outside of holiday exceptions.

Price submitters would send, or upload completed trade reports into Trade Vision at the conclusion of trading on the third business day. Platts natural gas editors would assess values and attempt to contact price submitters for trade verification the following business day.

The fixed price and basis transactions currently reported would not change, only the date range would change.

Final Platts and ICE monthly indices would be published by 5:00 pm CST the following business day.

The proposal would impact symbols under the GM and GJ market data categories.
