Platts to update its Asian UCOME assessment specifications

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has decided to update some of the specifications reflected in its assessment of UCOME FOB China (UCFCA00) in light of feedback from market participants during its Asia Biodiesel and Feedstock roundtable held on Jan. 11 in Singapore, with effect from Jan. 26.

Platts will remove water content of 350 ppm maximum from the specifications, as it is already defined in the EN 14214 quality standard, and add Monoglyceride Content of 0.3% maximum to the specifications.

Furthermore, Platts specifies that the assessment reflects cargoes loading from main ports located in the North China region. Platts will continue to review these specifications as the market continues to evolve, including during its annual review of the Global Biofuels Specifications Guide.
