For the Market on Close assessment process, S&P Global Platts continues to reflect incrementability guidelines that allow bids and offers for the Asia Pacific LNG derivatives MOC assessment process to improve by up to 10 cents/MMBtu every 30 seconds, as opposed to 5 cents/MMBtu every 30 seconds.
Platts is clarifying this temporary measure is continuing on sustained, heightened market volatility due to fast-changing circumstances in global gas markets, and that bids and offers can be improved by up to 10 cents/MMBtu every 30 seconds in the derivatives MOC process alone.
On Jan. 17, 2022, Platts has made a number of changes to the timing and increments for the APAC MOC process for both physical and derivative markets. This change followed a proposal note published Nov. 5, 2021. The subscriber note to the methodology change can be found here:
Platts reserves the right to change incrementability guidelines in the MOC process throughout the day depending on evolving market conditions.
This temporary change applies to the Platts APAC derivatives MOC until further notice.
