S&P Global Platts is proposing to launch a daily spot price assessment for CFR Turkey polypropylene fiber grade in light of market demand, effective March 11, 2020.
The proposed assessment would better capture the full range of the Turkish polypropylene market and would complement the existing weekly CFR Turkey PP homo injection, CFR Turkey PP copolymer and CFR Turkey PP raffia assessments.
The daily assessment would take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 4:30 pm London time. The proposed assessment would be on a CFR Turkey Istanbul basis in $/mt for cargo volumes of up to 1,000 tonnes for delivery into Turkey within 3 to 30 days from the date of publication.
The assessment would exclude import duties and would reflect imported prime material with a melt flow rate (MFR) of 18-35 g/10min at 230°C.
The proposed Turkish PP fiber grade assessment would be published on Platts real-time Petrochemical Alert pages PCA 0280 and PCA 0239, in Polymerscan, on Platts Market Center and in Platts Market Data.
