Platts publishes variable Mexican natural gas transport costs and index prices

Effective Jan. 15, 2021, S&P Global Platts expands coverage of the Mexican natural gas pricing market to publish variable transport costs and index prices for all 16 daily Mexico natural gas locations.

The daily variable index price for each location includes only the variable transport cost, removing the fixed transport cost. Platts continues to publish the fully loaded price which includes both the variable cost as well as the fixed cost for transportation for all 16 locations.

In order to provide further granularity, Platts also publishes the fixed transport for each of the 16 daily locations.

Finally, Platts will update the variable cost daily as market conditions change for both the variable and fully loaded index prices, ensuring reflective pricing for all 16 locations.
