Platts increases ICMS tax rate in Brazil ethanol assessments

S&P Global Platts has increased the Brazilian Tax on Commerce and some Services, or ICMS tax, on hydrous ethanol to 13.3% from 12% following an official announcement for the increase from Sao Paulo state, effective Jan. 15, 2021.

The affected assessments are:

AAXNQ00 – Hydrous ANP domestic

AAXNQ00 – Anhydrous ANP domestic

AAXNR00 – Hydrous FOB Santos

AAXNS00 – Grade B FOB Santos

AAXOA00 – Hydrous ANP ex-mill in sugar equivalent

These assessments currently appear in the Platts price database under the codes above, in the Biofuelscan and in the weekly Fuel Ethanol report.
