SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts amends Worldscale baskets for Black Sea clean tankers

Following Worldscale Association circular number eight for 2019, S&P Global Platts will amend the Worldscale flat rate baskets used for $/mt calculations on the Black Sea-UK Continent and Black Sea-Med Handysize clean tanker assessments, effective February 1, 2019.

According to the Worldscale circular: "In light of recent information regarding significant Towage cost increases at TUAPSE the Associations find it necessary to revise all rates involving loading or discharging at this port."

With this amendment, the new flat rates for voyages involving the port of Tuapse are obtainable by adding 17 cents/mt.

For Worldscale tanker assessments, Platts uses baskets of Worldscale flat rates as a basis for $/mt calculations.

The affected Platts assessments considering the Worldscale flat rate amendment are provided below.
