SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts amends Worldscale baskets for Black Sea dirty tanker assessments

Following Worldscale Association circular number eight for 2019, S&P Global Platts will amend the Worldscale flat rates basket used for $/mt calculations on the Black Sea-Mediterranean Handysize dirty tanker assessment, effective February 1, 2019.

According to the Worldscale circular: "In light of recent information regarding significant Towage cost increases at TUAPSE the Associations find it necessary to revise all rates involving loading or discharging at this port".

With this amendment, the new flat rate for voyages involving the port of Tuapse is obtainable by adding 17 cents/mt.

For Worldscale tanker assessments, Platts uses baskets of Worldscale flat rates as a basis for $/mt calculations.

The affected Platts assessment considering the Worldscale flat rate amendment is provided below.
