SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts extends consultation on MTBE water content change

Following market feedback, S&P Global Platts has decided to extend the consultation period on its proposal to reduce the maximum accepted water content in European MTBE to 500 ppm from 1,000 ppm now.

The proposed change follows feedback that the bulk of MTBE produced and traded within Europe conforms to a maximum limit of 500 ppm water content.

Platts continues to seek feedback on its proposal and invites all comments by January 31, 2019.

This would affect Platts daily assessments for MTBE FOB ARA, MTBE FOB ARA factor and MTBE FOB ARA (cents/gal), under the symbols PHALA00, PHALA02, AAWLE00.
