Platts proposes to begin publishing a daily marker for gasoline delivered into West Africa, calculated as a freight net-forward from Platts Premium gasoline 10 ppm gasoline FOB Rotterdam barge assessment (PGABM00). The new assessment would be launched with effect from May 1, 2014, and be based on a basket of four Worldscale flat rates; Amsterdam-Lome, Rotterdam-Lome, Amsterdam-Lagos and Rotterdam-Lagos. The 2014 Worldscale flat rate used to calculate the net-forward formula for the assessment is $18.74/mt. The new assessment, titled West African gasoline marker, would be calculated by multiplying the Worldscale flat rate by the Platts daily tanker rate assessment for UKC-West Africa 37,000 mt cargoes (PFAMH00) and adding this to the daily Platts Premium gasoline 10 ppm gasoline FOB Rotterdam barge assessment (PGABM00). Please send all feedback and questions to europe_products@platts.com, with a cc to pricegroup@platts.com. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if they are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing.
