Platts is modifying its description of its Niagara pricing location used in its daily and monthly bidweek North American Natural Gas price surveys to include both US-to-Canada and Canada-to-US deliveries between TransCanada PipeLines and Tennessee Gas Pipeline's Niagara Spur and Niagara Spur Loop lines at the US-Canada international boundary near Niagara Falls, New York. In November 2012, Tennessee implemented a service to physically export gas to Canada at Niagara as well as receive it.
Effective January 9, 2013, Platts' description for Niagara, which historically has captured cross-border trading for deliveries from TransCanada PipeLines to the Niagara Spur lines, will now be: "Niagara (daily and monthly survey) Cross-border deliveries to and from TransCanada PipeLines and the Niagara spur and loop lines, a border-crossing point between eastern Canada and the northeastern United States, north of Niagara Falls, N.Y. Niagara Spur Loop line and Niagara Spur line interconnects are with Tennessee Gas Pipeline, National Fuel Gas Supply, Dominion Transmission and Texas Eastern Transmission."
