S&P Global Platts proposes to change the frequencies and assessment dates of certain EMEA steel assessments. Platts proposes to reduce the frequency from daily to weekly for HRC and CRC FOB Black Sea assessments and from weekly to monthly for its Rebar EXW Northwest Europe and Shredded Scrap S. Europe assessments. Platts further proposes to change the weekly assessment dates from Friday to Wednesday for its Black Sea Slab and Medium Sections DDP Europe assessments. Platts is proposing the changes as a result of changing market dynamics involving the respective products. Platts seeks market feedback on its proposal by Thursday, January 31, 2019 and proposes to make these changes effective from Friday, March 1, 2019.
Details of the assessments proposed for frequency changes from daily to weekly are as follows: HRC FOB Black Sea, code: STHRB00 CRC FOB Black Sea, code: STRRB00 The last daily assessment would be Thursday, February 28, 2019. Platts proposes to assess the new weekly assessments every Wednesday, starting Wednesday, March 6, 2019.
Details of the assessments proposed for frequency changes from weekly to monthly are as follows: Rebar EXW Northwest Europe, code: STCBE00 Shredded Scrap S. Europe, code: SB01229 The last weekly assessment would be Friday, March 1, 2019. Platts proposes to assess the new monthly assessments on every 10th of the month or closest working day to the 10th, starting Monday, March 11, 2019.
Details of the assessments proposed for assessment day changes from Friday to Wednesday are as follows: Slab FOB Black Sea, code: SB01233 Medium Sections DDP Europe, code: SB01160 The last weekly assessment to be made on a Friday would be Friday, March 1, 2019 with the new weekly Wednesday assessment starting on Wednesday, March 6 2019.
