Natural Gas
January 05, 2024
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is seeking feedback on the methodology for the Transco, zone 5 South daily and monthly natural gas indices.
The construction of Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) is currently targeted to finish in the first quarter of 2024, according to developers of the project. MVP will begin in Wetzel County, West Virginia, and end at Transco's zone 5 compressor station 165.
Transactions reported at Station 165 are currently included in the Transco, zone 5 South index. Platts is seeking feedback on MVP deliveries to Station 165, how this might affect Station 165 and zone 5 pricing, and whether Transco, zone 5 South methodology should be changed.
This feedback relates to the methodology for the Transco, zone 5 index as well since Station 165 trades are part of the index.
