Effective January 5, 2015, Platts will start to deliver most of its Americas petrochemical commentaries in a new style.
The commentaries will be split into two sections, with bullets points to capture the most important trends of the day.
Alongside the new, shorter market commentary is a separate assessment rationale. The rationale is designed to give the reader a greater understanding of the Platts methodology and our approach to pricing, while leaving the market commentary in a more easily accessible format.
The US benzene and aromatics daily commentaries had been enhanced since October 1, 2014.
From January 5 onwards, commentaries for the following products will appear in the new enhanced style: daily methanol, daily MTBE, daily ethylene and propylene. The weekly commentaries for polypropylene, high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, linear low density polyethylene, PVC, polystyrene, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, PET, acetic acid/vinyl acetate monomer, oxo alcohols, phthalic anhydride, EDC/VCM, paraxylene, benzene, styrene, mixed xylenes, toluene, orthoxylene, MTBE, methanol, ethylene, propylene, MEG, and butadiene will also be enhanced.
