Platts clarifies weight basis specification for its global rebar assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, clarifies that all its rebar price assessments globally are published on an actual weight basis, except for some Asian assessments.

The following Platts Asia rebar assessments reflect a theoretical weight basis:

All other assessments reflect actual weight.

Alongside this clarification, Platts is adding a weight parameter to the rebar specifications listed in its Global Steel, Ferrous Scrap, Ferroalloys and Noble Alloys methodology guide. Detailed specifications can be found here.
