S&P Global Platts proposes to start assessing Mexican domestic market steel prices in Mexican Pesos.
Currently, Platts assesses and publishes its Mexico domestic steel prices in US dollars.
Platts is proposing to create new symbols to assess these products in their home market currency.
The existing product codes would continue to be published, but would be a US dollar conversion using the foreign exchange rate for the given day.
Platts proposes to start publishing these additional assessments from March 1, 2017.
The change would affect Platts hot-rolled coil domestic delivered Mexico monthly price assessment (product code: SB01145), cold-rolled coil domestic delivered Mexico monthly price assessment (product code: SB01086) and the rebar domestic delivered Mexico monthly assessment (product code: SB01199), which are published on the first business day of each month in US dollars.
These price assessments are published on the SBB website and price analyzer.
All other specifications would remain the same.
