Effective January 5, 2014, Platts will start to deliver most of its Asian petrochemical commentaries in a new style.
The commentaries will be split into two sections, with bullets points to capture the most important trends of the day.
Alongside the new, shorter market commentary is a separate assessment rationale. The rationale is designed to give the reader a greater understanding of the Platts methodology and our approach to pricing, while leaving the market commentary in a more easily accessible format.
The Asian benzene commentary had been enhanced since September 8, 2014.
From January 5 onwards, commentaries for the following products will appear in the new enhanced style: paraxylene, toluene, isomer-MX, solvent MX, orthoxylene, styrene monomer, MTBE, methanol, ethylene, propylene, butadiene, polypropylene, high density polyethylene, low density PE, linear low density PE, PVC, polystyrene/expanded PS, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, PET, acetic acid/vinyl acetate monomer, caprolactam, acrylonitrile, ethylene dichloride/vinyl chloride monomer, oxo alcohols, natural rubber and styrene-butadiene-rubber.
