Platts defines carbon intensity for European biomethane GO assessments

Platts, part of S&P Commodity Insights, has defined the carbon intensity (CI) value of its European biomethane GO assessments, accurately reflecting the quality of the certificates being traded.

The CI value range for the non-crop European biomethane GO assessments is for between +25.00 g Co2e/MJ to +0.00 g CO2e/MJ, reflective of the CI range for waste feedstocks.

This affects assessments for certificates in the UK, the Netherlands, Denmark and Germany for the current-year and year-ahead vintages beginning Jan. 2, 2023.
