New Duty+RIN for each USAC gasoline cargo January 3

Effective January 3, 2011, Platts has launched a Duty and Renewable Identification Number credit (Duty+RIN) assessment alongside each of its existing US Atlantic Coast gasoline cargo assessments.

The assessments reflect gasoline duty, RIN credits and import fees, including the Harbor Maintenance Fee, Merchandising Process Fee and Spill Tax, for each gasoline cargo assessed in the US Atlantic Coast.

Platts publishes seven gasoline cargo assessments for the USAC, and previously, Platts had assessed only one daily value for Duty+RIN.

As of January 3, 2011, Platts factors in the value of the 2011 biodiesel, ethanol, advanced biofuel and cellulosic biofuel RIN credits into the RIN component of the Duty+RIN assessments.

These renewable fuels are mandated by the US Environmental Protection Agency, and the respective Platts assessments are published Platts Global Alert page 597.

The assessments are published in Platts US Marketscan and on page 14 of real-time service Platts Global Alert.

Additionally, they are available in the Platts price database, in Dispatch category PN.
