Platts amends maximum carbon intensity/minimum GHG-saving for T2 Ethanol FOB Rotterdam Premium assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has changed the maximum carbon intensity specification for its Ethanol T2 FOB Rotterdam premium assessment, effective Jan. 2, 2024.

The change updates the maximum carbon intensity for its European T2 Ethanol FOB Rotterdam premium assessment (AASNR00) to a maximum carbon intensity of 12.57g CO2e/MJ, equivalent to minimum GHG saving 85% under RED I and minimum GHG saving 86.6% under RED II.

The change is in line with market feedback that a minimum GHG saving of 80% under RED I is no longer reflective of the high-GHG savings premium market, and that liquidity is concentrated from a minimum saving of 85%.
