S&P Global Platts has changed the name of its daily assessments for Butane delivered into North West Europe to "Butane CIF NWE Seagoing" from "Butane CIF 1,000-3,000 MT" effective January 2, 2020.
The previous name is no longer reflective of the vessel size included in the assessment. The assessment cargo size range is 1,000-3,600 mt.
The title removes the size reference and makes it consistent with Platts Butane FOB NWE Seagoing assessment. The assessment specifications are unchanged.
This decision follows a period of industry feedback. The note announcing this decision was published December 3: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/120319-platts-to-rename-european-butane-cif-1000-3000-mt-assessment
