SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts amends Asia Supramax coal cargo sizes

Following a period of industry consultation and feedback, S&P Global Platts has changed the cargo sizes of some Asia Pacific Supramax thermal coal freight assessments, effective January 2, 2018.

The coal suppliers from Indonesia and South Africa are offering thermal coal cargoes in parcels of 55,000 mt (plus/minus 10%) for India bound voyages and the liquidity for this stem size has grown with charterers preferring to move larger parcels to maximize freight returns.
