SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts revises Asian isomer-grade mixed xylenes specification

As previously announced, S&P Global Platts has revised the Asian isomer-grade mixed xylenes methodology to include a minimum paraxylene content specification of 18% (by weight), with effect from January 3, 2017, due to a change in market conditions.

Henceforth, the specifications of Asian isomer-grade mixed xylenes cargoes assessed by Platts should adhere to specifications as set out in the latest edition of ASTM D-843 in addition to:

a maximum ethylbenzene content of 18% maximum non-aromatics content of 1% maximum bromine index of 20 ppm, and minimum paraxylene content of 18%.

The Asian isomer-MX assessments are published on Platts Petrochemical Alert pages 645 and 647, the Asian Petrochemicalscan, and under the following codes in the Platts price database:
