SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts launches NEAT Coal Index January 3

On January 3, 2017, Platts launched North East Asia Thermal Coal Index, or NEAT Coal Index, based on seaborne delivery to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

The new daily NEAT Coal Index will reflect trade in thermal coal with a calorific value of 5,750 kcal/kg net as received on a CFR basis traded in the spot market, for delivery in a 15-60 day forward window on a standard Panamax vessel of 75,000 mt on a CFR basis.

The symbol for the new NEAT Coal Index is JKTCA00.

This price assessment will be published in Coal Trader International and will be available on Platts Coal Alert page GC0410 and in Market Data category CI.

The monthly and quarterly averages for this assessment will be available on Platts Coal Alert page GC0425.
