SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts adds minimum GHG spec to FOB ARA biodiesel assessments

Effective January 2, all Platts FOB ARA biodiesel assessments, except those for RED SME and non-RED SME, will reflect a minimum greenhouse gas saving of 50% when compared with the fossil fuel comparator, as per the EU's Fuel Quality Directive calculation.

Platts will monitor the activity and development of European biodiesel markets and continue to review trading activity and assessments for abnormal trading indications.

Platts will continue to monitor this activity in light of the change to German domestic biofuel specifications and adapt its methodology as necessary to reflect standard spot market trade flows.
