Subscriber note: Platts suspends US, Canada marine diesel oil assessments

Subscriber note: Platts wishes to remind Bunkerwire subscribers that its existing marine diesel assessments for major ports in the US and Canada has been suspended effective January 2, 2013, as announced on August 30, 2012. Platts will also be suspending its MDO assessments for Fujairah, Hong Kong, Khor Fakkan, Kuwait, South Korea, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne on February 1, 2013. These suspensions follow a trend in supply away from MDO and toward marine gasoil in its place. Platts has added MGO assessments to affected port locations where they did not previously exist. Platts will continue to monitor liquidity trends in any all remaining MDO assessments through 2013 and invites your comment.
