S&P Global Platts upgrades security standards for iFTP

As part of S&P Global Platts' continued commitment to delivering the markets of the future, on June 6, 2020, we upgraded the security standards for the Platts SFTP delivery.

This will ensure your content is delivered with the highest security protocols.

To follow up on our previous communication on Sept. 3, 2020, we request you to change your existing SFTP password to comply with the latest security standards.

To change the password, you need to access our new web portal https://sftp.platts.com.

To login, you can use your registered email or SFTP user id and existing password.

After accessing the site, kindly change the current password to follow industry-standard password policy rules (given below).

The password change is effective immediately. After this, you will need to update the password in your existing workflows.

New Password change rules:

At least nine (9) characters in length

Utilize at least one of each of the following three password characteristics:

  • Alphabetic characters, upper case letters
  • Alphabetic characters, lower case letters
  • Numeric character
  • Special character (if supported by the system.)
  • No more than 2 of the same consecutive characters in a row.

Note: This password change needs to be completed by Dec. 31, 2020, to avoid losing access to the Platts SFTP site.
