Platts introduces Group Three Gasoline 84 sub octane

Platts Group 3 84 sub-octane assessment will reflect Magellan Pipeline specifications.This change is being implemented in light of the shift away from finished gasoline toward sub-octane in the Group 3 market, and previously announced changes by Magellan Pipeline to phase out finished gasoline shipments from its system and begin shipping only sub-octane shipments September 15.

Daily assessment will be published on PGA 320, in the US Maketscan, Platts Oilgram Price Report. Monthly average for September will be launched on October 1, 2013 and will be published in Price Average Supplement.

Launch date is scheduled for September 3, 2013.
