As previously announced, S&P Global Platts is going to implement the following enhancements for PRS data on June 10, 2016.
Two new columns "Calendar Code" and "Price Type" will be added to all the PRS files posted on ftp.platts.com. Calendar Code is a symbol which represents calendar schedule for either a Platts editorial region or an exchange, with value 0 representing a holiday and 1 representing a trade day and delivered on Platts FTP site through transactional FTP files. Price Type can be official selling price, rack price, etc.
Currently in the PRS folder on the FTP site, there are the following PRS files to be affected:
Gas_Reference_Data.csv Oil_Reference_Data.csv Power_Reference_Data.csv Gas_Reference_Changelog.csv Oil_Reference_Changelog.csv Power_Reference_Changelog.csv
The new PRS files will look like this:
Symbol,Market Data Category,Description,Currency Code,Unit of Measure,...,Price Type,Calendar Code PCAAS00,RI,Dated Brent,USD,BBL,...,CALLN00 AALPG00,UG,Naphtha USGC barge,USC,GAL,...,CALUS00 AAFFU00,RP,WTI Spore Mo01,USD,BBL,...,CALSG00 AAING00,OS,Syrian Heavy OSP,USD,BBL,...,Official selling price,CALLN00
The calendar codes have be created in a new Market Data category, HD, Holiday Schedule. All the 2016 calendar data will be updated when going live, with most of the dates having F transaction code as future dates. The data will be sent out daily weekdays as N for new when the dates become current. Going forward, at the end of each year, next year's calendar data will be updated.
The FTP file will look like this, with the symbol CALLN00 representing London calendar schedule and May 30, 2016 being a holiday.
