Platts has created a monthly average code for its Global Jet Index to reflect current weightings in the index.
Platts updated the weightings in the index as published on PGA page 536 and in various other Platts publications in August 2010.
The revised weightings are as follows, as a percentage of the daily global index: Asia & Oceania 22%, Europe & CIS 28%, Middle East & Africa 7%, North America 39%, Latin & Central America 4%.
The monthly average will appear in the Platts Price Average Supplement.
This change brings the publication of the index into line across all Platts publications.
The launch date of the new code will be June 1, 2011, for May 2011 averages, but the Jet Index published in the April 2011 Price Average Supplement will reflect the current weightings.
The April averages will be backfilled in the database on June 1, 2011.
