Notes: ExxonMobil has reported that a fire began in a hydro desulfurization unit at its 560,500 b/d refinery in Baytown, Texas, at 1 am CDT on Dec. 23, according to a company spokesperson.
"ExxonMobil's emergency response teams continue to work to extinguish the fire that occurred in a hydro desulfurization unit at our Baytown Refinery this morning around 1 a.m. central time. The refinery is the second-largest in the US, surpassed only by Motiva's 607,000 b/d Port Arthur, Texas, plant.
"We are saddened to inform that four people were injured and are receiving medical treatment. All other personnel have been accounted for," she added.
