Fires contained at South Pars, Fajr Jam

Oil ministry advisory on hazardous smoke

Iran has reported these attacks and updates in connection to its oil and natural gas projects since Israel began attacks on June 13. All updates are as of June 15.

Fires at gas treatment plants onshore at Phase 14 of South Pars and Fajr Jam were contained. No update if they are back in service. It was reported on June 14 that 12 million cu m/d of gas production was temporarily suspended. Both were hit by drones.

Attacking Iran's onshore gas operations at Asaluyeh is "dragging the scene of confrontation to the Persian Gulf," foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said in a June 14 statement carried by official news agency IRNA.

A fire broke out on June 14 at the Shahran storage depot that holds fuel and oil for the nearby Tehran oil refinery, which remains unaffected and is operating as normal. Shahran contains most oil products except for gasoline but the total in storage was not clear.

Supplies in the depot had earlier been reduced in anticipation of an attack, oil ministry's news service Shana reported on June 15, citing Tehran Fire Department spokesperson Jalal Maleki. Firefighters remain on the scene. Iran's oil ministry advised citizens to keep away because smoke from the fire is hazardous.

Shahran and Rey oil storage depots are "fully operational and there is no fuel supply problem," Aliakbar Arabameri, supply and distribution director at National Oil Products Distribution Co, said in a June 15 statement carried by Shana.

However, long lines have formed at gas stations in Tehran serving both cars and trucks.

The Tehran oil refinery was not attacked and is operating without any interruption, oil ministry news service Shana reported June 15. So far no refineries were hit, the National Iranian Oil Products Refining and Distribution Co said on June 14.

Background on Phase 14, according to Pars Oil and Gas Co. website:

The onshore gas processing plant is located 105 km from the offshore gas extraction platform in the Persian Gulf shores of Bushehr province.

The onshore plant includes a condensates splitter, a stabilization unit and four terrains of gas sweetening units each with a processing capacity of 500 million cubic feet/year (14 million cu m/d). It also has four storage tanks for condensates and others for LPG.

It receives 56.6 million cu m/d of sour gas and injects 50 million cu m/d of methane or sweet gas into the national gas grid. Also, 75,000 b/d of gas condensates and 400 mt of sulfur are produced at the plant. It also has an annual production of 1 million mt of ethane and 1.05 million mt of LPG.

Background on Fajr Jam, according to Fajrjam.ir:

The onshore gas plant treats gas from the onshore Nar and Kangan gas fields in the Bushehr province. Its capacity stands at 125 million cu m/d. The plant produces dry gas as well as gas liquids and LPG. The gas liquids produced are transferred to the port of Siraf for exports through the Persian Gulf. The LPG is stored and exported via trucks to neighboring countries. Fajr Jam also treats gas coming from phases 6-8 of the offshore South Pars gas field.
