A fire has broken out at Novatek's Ust-Luga terminal on the Baltic Sea, Leningrad regional governor Alexander Drozdenko said in a post on telegram Jan. 21.

Novatek processes stable gas condensate into naphtha, jet fuel, fuel oil and gas oil at its Ust-Luga complex.

Local news website Fontanka.ru reported that the complex was attacked by two drones, and a large gas storage facility was damaged.

Ust-Luga is a major Russian energy export route.

The fire comes after reported attacks on an oil product depot in Bryansk and an attempted drone attack on the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal in recent days.
