London — The US has warned flagged vessels in the Middle East of possible retaliatory attacks from Iran.
Tanker freight rates have hit three-month highs for vessels using the 21-mile-wide Strait of Hormuz.
The channel separating Iran from the Arabia Peninsula is used to transport a fifth of the world's petroleum liquids consumption and a quarter of its LNG.
