Lauren Smart is Chief Commercial Officer of S&P Global Sustainable1, with global expertise in sustainable finance. She leads a team committed to growing S&P Global’s ESG business with functional responsibilities for commercial strategy, go to market, product specialists, client engagement and marketing. 

Prior to joining S&P Lauren was a member of the board and senior management team of Trucost responsible for the successful sale of the business to S&P Dow Jones Indices in 2016 and integrating the Trucost business into S&P Global Market Intelligence in 2018. She was integrally involved in a number of major market innovations such as developing the world’s first portfolio carbon footprint and helped grow the Trucost business from being a start up to a market leader in climate finance. Prior to Trucost, Lauren worked in Equity Research in the fund management industry and was a consultant at the UK Government’s Department for International Development working on the Millennium Development Goals.

Lauren is a regular speaker and respected commentator on sustainable finance, quoted in publications such as the Economist, Investment Week, IPE and The Actuary. In 2019 she was a speaker in Davos at the World Economic Forum on, “The future of finance”. Lauren holds a BA & MA from Cambridge University in Archaeology & Anthropology and an MSc in Anthropology & International Development from the London School of Economics. 

Robert is a Managing Director Global Head of Asset Stewardship - Strategy State Street Global Advisors (SSGA).

Robert and his colleagues are responsible for developing our stewardship strategy for fixed income, as well as leading our efforts around client-focused activities including client engagement (thought leadership), requests for proposal (RFPs), and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs).

Prior to joining SSGA in 2017, Robert was a Director for Social and Governance research at HSBC Bank plc where he lead coverage on ESG issues. Previous financial service roles also include head of Governance research for equity broker Kepler Cheuvreux, and Stewardship Services Manager Europe for GO Investment Partners. During his career, Robert has been ranked in the Extel Survey, ranking #1 in 2017, 2015, 2014 & 2013 for governance equity research. Robert holds a BA (Hons)degree in History & Politics from Queen Mary University of London.

Tianyin Cheng is Senior Director and APAC Head of ESG Indices at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI). S&P DJI caters to a diverse spectrum of ESG investing needs, from best-in-class approaches like ESG Elite, to mainstream indices like the S&P 500® ESG Index, to climate and net zero solutions like S&P PACT indices. Tianyin oversees the product pipeline and initiatives of the ESG Indices Product Management team. She is responsible for the overall commercial success of ESG indices in the APAC region.

Prior to her current role, Tianyin was Senior Director and APAC Head of Strategy Indices at S&P DJI. Before that, she was Quant Analyst and Risk Manager at Catalytic Investment Group, a Singapore-based multi-strategy fund, equity fund, and family office. She also has two years of experience in quantitative equity research, including at Daiwa Capital Markets in Singapore.

Tianyin holds an M.Sc. in econometrics and mathematical economics with Distinction from The London School of Economics (LSE) and a B.Sc. in mathematics, with the Lee KuanYew Gold Medal award from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

Steven Bullock leads the ESG Innovation and Solutions Team at S&P Global Sustainable1. As head of this group, Steve has successfully led the development of Trucost's suite of climate and impact analytics products, including Carbon Earnings at Risk, Paris Alignment, Physical Risk and SDG Analytics. Steve has played a leading role on the world’s first public environmental profit and loss “EP&L” account for PUMA and supported GPIF, the world's largest asset owner, on their inaugural TCFD-aligned reporting.

Steve has also contributed to the technical development of the S&P Global Ratings Green Evaluation Tool and the recent S&P Paris-Aligned & Climate Transition (PACT) Indices.

Prior to joining S&P Global Trucost back in 2008, Steve worked as an analyst for a performance management consultancy. He holds a BA 1:1 with honors in Geography and a MSc with Distinction in Sustainable Development from the University of Exeter.
