The spotlight on the electric power sector intensifies, globally, as the world accelerates efforts towards a lower carbon future. This shift isn’t just about embracing clean energy technologies such as solar photovoltaics and battery energy storage - but transforming power systems and markets to sustainably meet the world’s energy needs as electrification trends deepen and energy-hungry datacenters are built at increasing scale.
Our experts are at the forefront of understanding the evolving dynamics in the power sector, in both regulated and restructured markets. We are helping clients to anticipate demand growth, make asset and portfolio investment decisions, assess the value of expanded transmission, evaluate new markets to enter, compare locational/siting choices, reduce carbon footprints, and understand the evolving market designs in which their investments will operate.
Covering thermal generation, solar, onshore and offshore wind, battery storage, green hydrogen production, etc. we see first-hand the challenges and new opportunities created in today’s rapidly evolving power sector.
We provide transaction advisory services on both the buy-side and sell-side, work with our clients to develop portfolio revenue forecasts and sensitivity analyses underpinning our clients’ financial modeling, review contracts and other seller-provided materials, evaluate market and PPA risks, and deliver commercial due diligence reports in support of complex transactions.
We help clients make big decisions about new markets to enter, adjacent technology investment and development decisions, and in some cases, when to exit particular markets.
With our deep industrial and cross-sectoral knowledge base, we are uniquely suited to advise utilities, system operators, and other power sector stakeholders regarding the confluence of forces driving rapid demand growth in today’s electricity sector.
We help assess the value of transmission projects and the market impacts of proposed generation infrastructure such as such as gas-fired power plants, or intelligently-sited battery energy storage systems.
We advise industrial clients who are procuring power to meet their growing energy needs, while managing their corporate emissions profile.
