Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has stopped publishing the daily US $/mt conversion of its ex-tank India methanol price assessment, effective Dec. 22, due to a lack of market relevance.
Platts first proposed the discontinuation on Sept. 23: Platts proposes to discontinue US $/mt conversion for ex-tank India methanol assessment and announced the decision to discontinue on Oct. 29: https://www.spglobal.com/energy/en/pricing-benchmarks/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/102925-platt... .
The conversion (Daily: ATANB00, W.Avg: ATANB04, M.Avg: ATANB03) was based on the domestic ex-tank methanol assessment in INR /kg (ATANA00) and the US dollar-Rupees foreign exchange rate (AAFGW00).
Platts will continue publishing its daily methanol India domestic ex-tank INR/kg assessment (ATANA00), which reflects supplies loaded onto road tankers from import terminals at Kandla port on the West Coast of India, 0-15 days forward from the date of publication. This assessment was launched on Sept. 26, 2022.
