Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will discontinue its Biodiesel FOB Southeast Asia assessment and the associated PME vs Crude Palm Oil assessment, effective Feb. 25, 2026.
The decision follows the observation of reduced international trading activity of palm oil methyl ester (PME), amid a decline in demand from destination countries, such as those in Europe, amid growing domestic demand in PME-producing countries.
Platts launched the Biodiesel FOB Southeast Asia assessment on Jan. 14, 2008.
The following assessments to be discontinued from Feb. 25 are listed below:
| Assessment | Symbol |
| Biodiesel FOB SE Asia | AAVSV00 |
| Biodiesel FOB SE Asia MAvg | AAVSV03 |
| Biodiesel FOB SE Asia WAvg | AAVSV04 |
| PME vs Crude Palm Oil | UCFCE00 |
The discontinuation was first proposed in a subscriber note published Dec. 3 .
The assessments that will be discontinued are currently published in the Biofuelscan report and Biomass-Based Diesel Report, Platts Biofuel Alert pages 2010 , 2011, 2012, 2310, 2311, 2312 and 2502, and in the Platts price database under the codes above.
