Platts decides to change the frequency for global bisphenol-A, ethanolamines, nylons and polycarbonate spot assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will change the frequency of the bisphenol-A, ethanolamines, nylons and polycarbonate spot assessments in Asia, the US, and Europe to weekly, effective Feb. 3, 2026.

The decision follows a proposal published Nov. 18 here to change the frequency to better reflect market dynamics around the respective products.

In addition to the assessments listed in that proposal, Platts has decided that the frequency of the following spot assessments will also be changed:

Bisphenol-A and ethanolamines prices will be databased on Tuesdays and nylons and polycarbonate prices will be databased on Wednesdays.

Bisphenol-A and ethanolamines prices and commentary will be published in Solventswire, while the nylons and polycarbonate prices and commentary will be published in Polymerscan.

As part of this decision, Platts will discontinue related weekly averages, effective Feb. 3, 2026.

The affected assessments are databased under the following codes:

Additionally, Platts has decided to align the frequency of assessments for nylon feedstocks globally.

European caprolactam spot assessments and Asian and European adipic acid and cyclohexane spot assessments will be published weekly, on Wednesday, to align with the frequency of publication in the US.

European caprolactam spot assessments and Asian and European adipic acid and cyclohexane spot assessments and market commentary will continue to appear in Polymerscan.
