The US ACN prices and commentary were not published correctly on PCA 176.
The following prices and commentary are correct:
US acrylonitrile: Prices continue to climb - 14dec10
FOB DLVD/ USG EXPORT FOB USG* USD/MT CTS/LB
ACN 2145.00-2155.00 99.75-100.25
The US ACN price climbed higher this week as supplies remained tight and feedstock prices were climbing.
The ACN price continued to be talked between $2,100 and $2,200/mt FOB USG, though sources said the price was likely to reach the high end of that range by the end of this month, and possibly climb higher in the first quarter of next year.
"I wouldn't be surprised if we see record high prices again," a source said.
Earlier this year the US ACN price climbed above $2,400/mt. Climbing propylene prices, as well as downstream demand, could again push ACN that high, a source said.
Downstream ABS demand remained unseasonably strong, sources said. And a major ACN unit turnaround, scheduled for February would further tighten supplies.
