SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to add 2 Atlantic Supramax dry bulk grains freight assessments

S&P Global Platts confirms that it will publish two new daily Supramax dry bulk grains freight assessments, reflecting the growing trade for grains from the Black Sea to Southeast Asia and from South America to China, effective February 1, 2019.

The launch of assessments for these routes follows feedback to S&P Global Platts proposal, published on November 5, 2018.

The following new assessments will be:

Yuzhny, Ukraine, to Cigading, Indonesia, 50,000 mt grains (DBWBS00)

Santos, Brazil, to Qingdao, China, 50,000 mt grains (DBSBS00)

The assessments will be based on modern Supramax tonnage and will reflect the cost of transporting a 50,000 mt (plus/minus 10%) grains cargo on a 57,000 dwt Supramax dry bulk vessel from loading port to discharge port and will be published on a dollar per metric ton basis.
