Platts proposes to discontinue Northwest Europe ammonia forward curve assessments from Dec. 1
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, is proposing to discontinue several market-based Northwest Europe ammonia forward curve assessments, effective Dec. 1, 2026.
The discontinuation of these assessments would enable the incorporation of months one to three (Mo01, Mo02, Mo03) into an associated quantitative forward curve.
The proposed discontinuation impacts the following assessments:
| Ammonia CFR Northwest Europe Forward Curve | Daily | Mirrored Symbol | Monthly Avg | |
| Mo01 | $/mt | AMMPT00 | AMFPT00 | AMMPT03 |
| Mo02 | $/mt | AMMPV00 | AMFPV00 | AMMPV03 |
| Mo03 | $/mt | AMMPX00 | AMFPX00 | AMMPX03 |
| Mo01 | $/MMBtu | AMMPS00 | AMFPS00 | AMMPS03 |
| Mo02 | $/MMBtu | AMMPU00 | AMFPU00 | AMMPU03 |
| Mo03 | $/MMBtu | AMMPW00 | AMFPW00 | AMMPW03 |
Following the proposed discontinuation of these assessments, months one to three (Mo01, Mo02, Mo03) would be published based on methodology established by the Platts market-based quantitative modeling team.
Furthermore, the methodology behind these assessments would be removed from the Global Fertilizer Specifications Guide and only detailed in the Global Ammonia Quantitatively Modeled Forward Curves Methodology and Specifications Guide, published here.
The full Northwest Europe ammonia forward curve would then be available via the Fertilizer Risk Market Data package, month one to 24.
