Platts proposes import parity prices for Chilean gasoline, diesel and jet fuel
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, is proposing import-parity prices for gasoline, diesel and jet fuel at the port cities of Quintero and Mejillones in Chile.
The prices would reflect the cost of each product imported on the day of publication. They would include the product value, freight, demurrage, storage, insurance, losses and quality differences, customs and agency fees, where applicable. The assessments would be published daily in dollars per barrel, along with weekly and monthly averages.
The assessments would calculate each product to be delivered via a Medium Range tanker to each port, which carry from 190,000-345,000 barrels of refined products.
Gasoline and blendstock deliveries into Mejillones totaled 1.3 million barrels from November 2025 to October 2026. Diesel imports accounted for 16.4 million barrels during that period, while jet fuel imports totaled 1.53 million barrels, according to data from S&P Global Commodities at Sea.
For Quintero, gasoline deliveries totaled nearly 2.13 million barrels, while diesel imports were almost 17.7 million barrels, and jet fuel imports were just under 2.83 million barrels during the same period, CAS data revealed.
These assessments would be published on PGA/PRF 169, 170 and 171, and in Latin American Wire.
