Platts to launch daily CFR India LPG assessments from Nov. 2

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will launch daily spot assessments of propane and butane for CFR West Coast India and East Coast India, effective Nov. 2, 2026.

The new assessments will complement Platts' existing LPG assessments, providing greater price transparency and information in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East LPG markets.

The assessments will reflect propane and butane cargoes supplied on refrigerated tankers, delivered 20-40 days forward from the date of publication.

These assessments will reflect the value of refrigerated propane and refrigerated butane as stand-alone, minimum 11,000 metric ton trade sizes. Multiples of 11,000 mt, up to 44,000 mt, are considered for assessment and normalized for size as needed.

The West Coast India assessments will reflect cargoes delivered to Kandla, and the East Coast India assessments will reflect cargoes delivered to Haldia. Deliveries to other safe and sound ports in India may be considered for inclusion in the assessments, normalized to a Kandla and Haldia basis for West Coast India and East Coast India, respectively.

Platts understands that spot trading liquidity for propane and butane into West Coast India and East Coast India on an outright basis may be limited. In the absence of spot outright information, Platts may consider prevailing freight rates and spot premiums/discounts relative to the Saudi Aramco Contract Price in the assessments.

The assessments will be published in $/mt and will take into consideration market value at the close of Asian trade at 5:00 pm Singapore time and follow the Singapore publication schedule.
