Platts proposes new FOB Southeast Asia Recycled Polypropylene price assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, is proposing to launch a new daily FOB Southeast Asia Recycled Polypropylene assessment, effective Jan. 4.

The proposed assessment would complement Platts' existing coverage of recycled polymers markets in Asia.

The new assessment would reflect the following parameters and terms:

Basis locations

Malaysia (Port Klang), Thailand (Bangkok), Indonesia (Jakarta), Singapore, the Philippines (Batangas) and Vietnam (Cat Lai)

Cargo size 20-30 mt
Laycan Loading 10-30 days forward from the day of publication
Currency/UoM US Dollar/mt
Payment terms TT in advance
Quality Natural and black pellets, PCR, MFI 10-15, injection grade, consumer end-use, without certification

Pricing information deviating from the standard specifications may be normalized and considered for assessment purposes.

The daily assessment would take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 4:30 pm Singapore time and would follow the Singapore publishing schedule.

Publications for the new assessment would include a daily rationale, a weekly commentary published every Thursday, and a weekly average price published every Wednesday.

The new assessment would be published in Polymerscan, Asian Petrochemicalscan, Platts Sustainable Polymerscan, PCA 409, Platts database , and on S&P Global Energy Core.
