Platts proposes to change frequency of India recycled HDPE spot price assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, is proposing to change the frequency of its recycled high-density blowmolding black color ex-works India assessments from weekly to daily, effective Nov. 26, 2026.

The proposed change would better align the coverage of the Indian R-HDPE market with the frequency of R-HDPE assessments in other regions.

The proposed change would impact the following price assessment:

Description Laycan Symbol MAvg
Recycled high-density blowmolding black color ex-works India (INR/KG) 0 to 15 days forward HBMCI04 HBMCI03
Recycled high-density blowmolding, black color ex-works India ($/mt equivalent) 0 to 15 days forward HBMCU04 HMCU03

Under the proposal, the existing weekly symbols (HBMCI04 and HBMCU04) would become daily and a new weekly average symbol would be launched and published on Wednesdays.

Pricing information with terms, locations and specifications different from the above standard may be considered for assessment purposes, subject to normalization.

These assessments appear on S&P Global Energy Core and in Polymerscan and Sustainable Polymerscan and on Platts Petrochemical Alert fixed page PCA 0441, PCA 0574, PCA 3021.
