Platts proposes to discontinue several clean tanker freight assessments in 2027
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, proposes to discontinue the following clean tanker assessments, effective Jan. 4, 2027.
The proposal to discontinue reflects declining fixture activity, shifting trade flows — including evidence of market preference for alternative routes — as well as illiquidity and limited market participation.
As market conditions continue to evolve, Platts will assess the markets that are most relevant and liquid, based on insights from S&P Global Energy trade flow software and market feedback.
