Platts proposes to amend basis location for part of its India rice assessments Nov 2
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, proposes to amend the basis location for part of its India rice price assessments, effective Nov. 2, 2026.
This is based on research and market feedback and is aligned with changes in trade flows of Indian white rice, keeping Platts assessments up to date with market standard specifications and enhancing transparency regarding Platts' rice prices coverage.
The proposed amendment reflects port changes for the following price assessments:
| Assessment Name | Symbol | Monthly Average | Current location | Proposed location |
| India Long Grain White Rice 5% Broken FOB | LRCAB00 | LRCAB03 | Kakinada | Kandla |
| India Long Grain White Rice 25% Broken FOB | LRCBE00 | LRCBE03 | Kakinada | Kandla |
The remaining specifications of the above assessments will be kept unchanged. Further details of Platts global rice coverage can be found in the Platts Global Grains and Oilseeds Specifications Guide.
The price assessments with the proposed changes are found on S&P Energy Core, Rice Daily publications, and on fixed page: PAA2401, PAA2412, PAA3000, PAA3003, PAA3009, FS1112.
